La Banda Gaites Candás invites all traditional music lovers to join our group of musicians. Join first as a student of the Bandina and then as a musician in the band.

Do you need to have prior musical knowledge? No, you will learn everything you need to know in the bagpipe classes (C and Bb) and percussion (box, tenor and bass drum). There are classes for people who have no musical training.

Is there an age limit?  Once you have  turned 10. We have students from the ten years old up to  sixty.

Does it cost a lot to become a member of the school?  Membership is 10 euros per month. This includes classes and almost all the material you need for musical instruments and costumes.

When and where are the classes? All classes and rehearsals are held at our headquarters located in the Candás Lighthouse  (Camino del Faro 19). Classes are held on Tuesdays and Fridays from 17:00 to 20:00. During that period you can certainly find a time to suit you. You will see that you will be able to combine the classes with other activities.

The Gaites Candás Band has won the Asturian Bagpipe Championship. The Band won third place in the prestigious Galician League. It won the  Soutelo Piper championship trophy,  and participated in the Festival Interceltic of Lorient. We have also traveled to many countries around the world.

It's your turn

Join us any Tuesday or Friday. From 19:00 to 22:00. In our house located in the Lighthouse of Candás.
